Day 2: Visiting Santiago

This morning your guide will show you the highlights of cosmopolitan Santiago from the impressive Pre-Columbian Museum for an insight into the interesting history of Chile to a walk to the top of Cerro Santa Lucia for fine views across the city. Day 3: From Santiago to the Atacama Desert

This morning take a flight north to Calama from where you transfer to San Pedro de Atacama in the heart of the Atacama Desert. Spend the next three nights at Tierra Atacama which offers incredible views towards the volcanoes of the Andes Mountains. Day 4 -5: Exploring the Atacama Desert

Choose from are a wide variety of guided excursions on four wheels, foot, horseback or bicycle. Photograph the stunning multi-coloured Altiplanic Lagoons often teeming with flamingos, float in the salty waters of Cejar Lagoon after a biking trip, stargaze or for the more adventurous climb one of the nearby 4,000 m+ volcanoes for unrivalled views across the Atacama and into Bolivia. Day 6: From Atacama Desert to Lake District

Today fly south to the Lake District via Santiago, a region of beautiful evergreen forests, snow-capped volcanoes and crystal clear lakes. Spend the next three nights based in Puerto Varas at Los Caiquenes, a comfortable and cosy guesthouse on the edge of town with fine views across Lake Llanquihue. Stay: Los Caiquenes

Day 7: Lake District

Spend your day visiting the Vicente Perez National Park with a short hike through the native forest to the crystal-green Petrohue waterfalls. Drive part way up the slopes of Osorno Volcano from where you hike across lava fields for superb view of the Andes. Stay: Los Caiquenes

Day 8: Lake District

Day to further explore the Lakes, we can arrange exciting trips to nearby Chiloe Island with its penguin colonies and UNESCO-listed historic sites, rafting trips along the Petrohue River or hike the trails of the many nearby national parks. Stay: Los Caiquenes

Day 9: From Lake District to Puerto Natales, Patagonia

Fly to the southern city of Punta Arenas where you begin your journey to Chilean Patagonia. Drive around three hours to Puerto Natales for an overnight stay at The Singular. Stay: The Singular

Day 10: From Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine

This morning’s adventure begins with a cruise through the Last Hope Sound to the remote Balmaceda hanging glacier, which tumbles into the sea below, before a hike to the spectacular Serrano glacier with an iceberg-filled lagoon beneath it. After a tasty Patagonian lunch, board a rib-zodiac boat for a truly exhilarating ride up the Serrano River, passing huge glaciers of the Southern Ice Cap before ending in the Torres del Paine National Park. Road transfer to your hotel on the edge of the National Patagonia Spend the next three nights at Tierra Patagonia, set in a privileged location on the edge of the vibrant-blue Sarmiento Lake towards the Torres del Paine. Days 11 - 12: Torres del Paine

Take a short transfer to your hotel in the heart of Chile’s San Antonio Valley. Spend two nights at La Casona Matetic, a very comfortable, small and historic boutique hotel. Day 14: Chilean Winelands
