Tour Plan

1

Day 1: Arrival in Zimbabwe

You will fly from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park, then you will be met by your guide and transferred to the camp. For the next four nights, you’ll stay at Little Makalolo Camp on a Full Board Basis. The remainder of the day will be spent at your leisure. We suggest lounging by the pool at the camp, sipping cocktails at the bar and looking out at the beautiful landscape after a long flight. Stay: Little Makalolo Camp
2

Day 2: Zimbabwe

Today, embark on a game drive and search for various wildlife. The private Wilderness Safaris concessions are situated in the most productive area of Hwange National Park. The varied habitats and vegetation types as well as countless waterholes mean that game drives are exciting with always something new to be seen. At night, sleep on the romantic star bed with your loved one. Situated on a raised platform overlooking Madison Pan, the Star Bed is just a 20-minute drive away from camp and offers a truly secluded, remote wilderness experience – and the opportunity of sleeping under the stars. Stay: Little Makalolo Camp
3

Day 3: Zimbabwe

Today you can choose to get up close to wildlife at Log-pile hide. This hide is beautifully placed at the camp’s productive waterhole and is the perfect place to spend your afternoon siesta hours. Elephants are often the star attraction at the hide; just watch out for the sprays of water propelled from their nearby trunks. After dinner, look out for shy, nocturnal animals on an evening drive. The Hwange ‘night act’ includes species such as lesser bushbaby, spotted hyaena, leopard, lion, Selous mongoose, pangolin, caracal, porcupine, scrub hare, springhare and even honey badger. Stay: Little Makalolo Camp
4

Day 4: Zimbabwe

This morning, go on a walking safari. Hwange was proclaimed some 80 years ago and has served as a haven for one of the densest concentrations of game in Africa. There is no better way to experience this park than on foot with an experienced safari guide. Spend the rest of the day here visiting the local community and learning more about their culture. An authentic village experience takes place in a manner that is respectful to all parties. Usually around four hours and lead by one of the local villagers or a Wilderness guide, it often includes a tour of the school, meeting the headman or headwoman and enjoying cultural exchanges with the villagers. Stay: Little Makalolo Camp

Day 4: Zimbabwe - Zambia

After checking out, you will be transferred to the airstrip from Little Makalolo then take a light aircraft transfer back to Victoria Falls. For the next two nights, you’ll be staying at here on a Full Board Basis. The remainder of the day will be spent at your own leisure, we suggest taking a cruise on the Zambezi River. Keep a look out for hippos, crocodiles and masses of birds. Stay: Toka Leya Camp

Day 6: Zambia

Today will be spent at your own leisure, some excursions at additional cost: Visit the majestic Victoria Falls, also known as ‘Smoke That Thunders’ Track the endangered rhino with local wildlife guides Spot wildlife on a game drive through the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park Try white water rafting, helicopter rides and bungee jumping Learn the history and culture from the local community and village Plant a tree at the campsite Enjoy a massage treatment on the banks of the Zambezi River Stay: Toka Leya Camp
